Discover the Roussillon area

The Roussillon opens like an amphitheatre towards the Mediterranean Sea, bordered with the hillsides and mountains of the Corbieres to the North, the Pyrenees to the West and the Alberes to the South.

From fields of snow covered Rhododendrons to the scented pine trees on the sunny cliff tops. The Roussillon country-side has witnessed the determination of its farmers and fishermen, all of which have helped to shape the landscape.

From 0 to 2785 metres (the peak of the Mount Canigou) the diversity of the land, its vegetation and its heritage is a never-ending source for exploring the region.

The Vallespir stretches the length of the Tech Valley, between the foothills of The Alberes, the hills of Les Aspres and the Massif of the Canigou.

Protected from the winds, the Vallespir offers an image of tranquillity. The hills planted with vines and olive trees, cork oak trees..... apple, pear and cherry trees. The chestnut and beech trees make for the most beautiful of forests where the wild mushrooms grow in abundance.

Between the fields and the mountains, the Aspres and the Conflent are dominated by the shadows of the Canigou, the sacred mountain of the Catalan people.

The orchards along the river banks of the Aspres, where the scrublands alternates with ancient vines that make some of the best wines of the region.
